We can still deliver in time for you to receive one of our great skillets or pancake pans in time for shrove Tuesday.
Treat yourself to one of our wonderful solid cast iron skillets. They will be superb for pancake day which is only a few days away.
They come pre seasoned, which means we have hard baked vegetable oil on them to start off their natural non-stick coating. This is much healthier for you than using a synthetic non sick coating.
They will also last you a lifetime. Cast iron is one of the most enduring materials there is and if you look after your pan, by gently wiping it clean with light vegetable oil after every use, it will outlast not only you but you children and your grandchildren.
Here's our recipe for perfect pancake batter...
1 large egg
4 oz plain flour
1/2 pint of milk
olive oil
orange and lemon juice
sugar
The Batter
Mix the egg and the milk together and then gradually add the flour, mixing small quantities into the milk at a time. |

The Cooking
Using your new cast iron pan , pre-heat it to get it nice and hot.
Add 1 teaspoon of olive oil to the pan and let it coat the bottom.
Slowly pour in about 1/4 of the batter mixture you have made above and let it cook for about 60 seconds.
If you feeling fun have a go at tossing the pancake over, just make sure you loosen it in the pan with a spatula first.
Cook the other side for about 60 seconds and serve onto a plate.
The Eating
Sprinkle on some sugar and squeeze over some fresh lemon and orange juice. Now roll it into a sausage shape and tuck in with a spoon. Enjoy |
