Product description

These Penny End door hinges are made from hand-forged steel. They are a high quality product, with a pewter patina finish and hand forged using traditional English blacksmithing methods. The design is based on timeless classics but hand-forging means no two pieces are identical, each one a unique yet functional work of art that will only enhance it's setting. The hinges are hot forged i.e. drawn to shape, not welded or fabricated. The pewter patina finish is elegant and beautifully highlights the texture of the steel. Stylish and modern, it is equally suited to a new home as well as a period one. These hinges combine functionality, traditional looks and durability - they will enhance the look of any door and at the same time work as sturdy fully functional hinges. As a guide, you require hinges that are at least halfway to two thirds the width of the door that they are being fitted to. These quality door hinges are supplied as a pair and they come complete with all fixings and screws. Available in five different lengths. The smaller sizes are ideal for hand crafted cupboard doors. The larger sizes have a smaller knuckle than usual and the fixing plate is narrow enough to be hung on a modern door lining. We recommend cutting the architrave over the fixing plate.
