This Tuscan thumb latch is made from hand-forged steel. It is a high quality product, with a beeswax finish and hand forged using traditional English blacksmithing methods. The design is based on timeless classics but hand-forging means no two pieces are identical, each one a unique yet functional work of art that will only enhance its setting. The latch is hot forged i.e. drawn to shape, not welded or fabricated.

The latch comes complete with a screw in retaining arm staple or alternative nail in staple and a door frame keep. The keep is designed to be nailed into the door frame and then a screw fitted to secure it strongly to the door frame. The thumb piece passes through the door and raises the latch bar off the keep.

This latch combines functionality, traditional looks and durability - it will enhance the look of any door and at the same time work as a sturdy fully functional thumb latch. Suitable for doors up to a thickness of 80mm. Comes complete with all fixings and screws.

Please note the External Beeswax Finish is manufactured from an anti-corrosive beeswax which means that the ironwork can be used outdoors, it is recommended that the iron work be maintained by occasional application with our beeswax maintenance wax.

Suitable for internal and external use.
