ReviewsThe Lichfield bell pull and butler bell is a beautifully crafted high quality product. Based on the original Victorian design the pull comes complete with everything you will need to have this superb bell working in your home. The entire pull is mechanically operated. The external pull rod, fitted to the outside of the house, pulls a bell cord connected to an internal butler bell to make it ring. The cord passes through the wall into the house where three special pulleys (included in the set) guide the cord to the butler bell.
The internal butler bell is available with a centre flower disc or a centre lady disc. The Lichfield bell pull comes complete with an external pull rod, an internal sprung butler bell, a directional pulley, an extension pulley, a blanking pulley, 4 meters of pull cord and full installation instructions. A beautiful faithfully reproduced original Victorian design. Looks superb on any door for that authentic touch.

The first pulley, called a blanking pulley, guides the cord as it exits the wall from the external pull rod. It attractively covers the hole necessary in the wall for the cord to pass through. A small integrated pulley passes the cord to the second extension pulley.
This pulley simply assists the cord as it travels along the wall to the bell. As many of these pulleys can be used as you like, but normally only one is necessary. Additional pulleys of this type are available below.
The final pulley is the directional pulley and is used to allow the cord to make a right angle turn, so that it is correctly aligned to pull on the butler bell's sprung pull arm to make the bell ring.
The Lichfield bell pull rod includes the return spring (pictured left) to return the pull rod back to its start position after it has been pulled. This spring MUST be fitted into the gap in an internal cavity wall. A single brick wall will not be suitable for this product.
